In a compact Mumbai bedroom the wardrobe has already taken the wall. Suitcases and spare linen then take the floor. A storage bed puts that volume under the mattress, so the room can be a bedroom again. Mumbai Master Carpentry builds two kinds: a box bed, where the mattress lifts, and a drawer bed, where boxes pull out from the side. We make it to your mattress, and we plan how it comes apart for the lift before we cut.
The photo is a bedroom with a wood headboard — design inspiration, not a completed storage bed. It does not show a lifted lid. The storage type is a line on your quote, so you know what you are paying for. Hanging clothes still need a wardrobe. A mirror and a seat are a dressing table.
Which bed matches the room
- Hydraulic box bed. The whole base is a bin. Right for seasonal linen and bags you do not need every day. You need clear space above the mattress so the lid can rise.
- Drawer bed. The mattress stays put. Right when one side of the bed is not hard against the wall and you want access without lifting.
- Headboard. Optional. A wide headboard can include a narrow shelf. It is not where a suitcase goes. Side tables are separate pieces unless the quote includes them.

When a flat actually needs one
Order one when the wardrobe cannot grow, when you are tired of climbing to a loft, or when the current bed is a plain platform and the space under it is wasted. If the frame you have is still sound and only the headboard is tired, we will say if a repair is the better spend.
Tell us the lift or the staircase on the first message. A one-piece box that does not fit the service lift is a failed delivery. What changes the quote
Custom furniture starts from ₹18,000 per piece. That is an indicative starting band for a simpler piece, not a hydraulic king-size bed and not a city average. The lines that move a storage bed:
- Mattress size — single, queen, king, or a size we measure. We do not guess it from a room photo
- Lift or drawers — a hydraulic mechanism is a different hardware line from drawer channels, and the grade is named
- Headboard and side tables — not included unless the quote says so
- How it travels — sections for the lift, assembly on site
- Height — a deep box sits higher. If you want a lower seat, we will tell you what storage you give up
The quote names mattress size, bed type, mechanism, board, finish, delivery, removal of the old bed if you need it, timeline, and the 1-year workmanship warranty. Our fitting is workmanship. A box bed lifts the mattress so the whole base is a bin. A drawer bed keeps the mattress still and gives you drawers from the side. Lift-up needs space above the bed. Drawers need a side that is not hard against the wall. Tell us which you want and we will quote that, not a generic storage bed.
