What the desk has to clear
We measure the wall the desk sits on, not a catalogue width. On a typical visit that means:
- Switchboards, data points, and the AC indoor unit the top must clear
- Window sill height, so the work surface gets light without blocking the shutter
- Door swing of the room, and of a wardrobe if the desk shares that bedroom
- Skirting, a beam, or a column that a straight shop table would hit
- How the piece leaves the building: lift depth, staircase turns, and whether the top has to come in two pieces

Pieces we build
- Wall-fixed study table — a top on brackets or a shallow carcass, with a modesty panel where the room needs it
- Study wall — desk, open shelves, and a shuttered overhead for files and bags
- Bedroom corner workstation — an L that stops before the bed and before the wardrobe shutter
- Kids’ study — a lower top, a pin-up or open shelf, and a finish you can wipe
- Closed study corner — when the living room has to become a room, the divider is a wooden or laminate partition, drawn with the desk

Materials for a room that stays closed all day

- Cable and storage — a grommet for the laptop charger, a shallow drawer, and a shelf for the router. We mark those before we cut.
